Children from three to six months change quickly, so you won't want to overbuy items your child will not be able to wear for more than several months. That means the items you buy need to be washable and still looking great after 30 or 40 washings.

For babies who need size 3 mo. clothing, at TKKB, we recommend 3-4 convertible gowns for sleeping infants. New babies sleep in a little "ball of baby" and the gown feature permits you to change them easily without worrying about getting their feet tucked back into legs. However, when you baby is stretching out, you can re-snap the bottom of the gown into legs!

Also, did you know that babies lose 20% of their heat through their head? That's why we offer hats for the littlest 3 month-olds to wear when they sleep.

Even new babies will need one "fancy" outfit. From simple to really fancy, we have them all at TKKB.

Sleepers, stretch waist pants with shirts and sunsuits (in warmer weather) are useful and you'll probably want several options. On that note, it's important to remember we stock clothing for year-round wear. There are lots of grandmas and grandpas who live in Pa and need clothing to send to Arizona or somewhere else that's warm year-round. 

Babies who need six-month sizes are often a puzzle for parents. The six-month size clothing they received as gifts sometimes looks too large for their little baby. Please don't wait too long to try the outfit(s) on your child. You don't want the baby to outgrow the outfit before it was worn!

Some babies go directly from six-month sizes to 12 month. But, not all. For those babies that aren't especially tall, nine month sizes may be perfect. I tell shoppers all the time that height is a more reliable indicator of size that weight. Most baby clothes are generously sized, so weight doesn't matter as much at this size. But, you can't stretch a sleeper to be longer. It's better to have a little room in the length.

Bottom line: you baby will grow so quickly. Don't wait to wear special outfits you may have received as gifts for the "perfect occasion." Visits to relatives, dinner out in restaurants, even grocery shopping - and countless photos - are occasions to wear those those lovely gifts you've received!

In the world of children's clothing, Infants are 12 mo., 18 mo. and 24 mo. That sizing label was the most confusing bit of information I had to learn when I first purchased TKKB. These little ones are learning to walk, beginning to speak in sentences and, generally, entertaining the heck out of you. They need the same clothing they needed as babies, although you'll probably purchase more play clothes at this stage. Don't forget, there's such a thing as dressy playclothes!
